Ba Ria-Vung Tau to host Mrs World Pageant 2009

Following the Decision 3901/ VPCP-KGVX issued on June 12, 2008, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem agreed with the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau’s proposal to host the Mrs World Pageant 2009 (MWP).
The provincial People’s Committee will take the prime responsibility and coordinate with the Ministries of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Foreign Affairs, Public Security, related authorities and the CIAT Advertising and Trade Fair Joint Stock Co. in ensuring a safe and lawful manner event.

From April 16-22, Mr David Z. Marmel, chairman of MWP’s organizing board, made a fact-finding tour of various localities such as Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Hai phong Hanoi Quang Ninh and Lam Dong. Finally, he selected Ba Ria-Vung Tau as the venue for the event.

Nguyen Dieu Hoa (photo), who was crowned Miss Vietnam at the Tien Phong beauty contest in 1990, left for Russia on June 13 to participate in “Mrs World Pageant 2008” that to be held in Kaliningrad City.

On June 20, Doctor – Miss Vietnam Doan Thi Kim Hong will fly to Kaliningrad as the first Vietnamese examiner in the contest.
