12 singers chosen for TV singing contest final

After two qualifier rounds in Hanoi and Hcm city the organising board of Vietnam Television’s prestigious singing contest named Sao Mai Diem Hen (Morning Star – Rendezvous) has announced the 12 competitors for the final round.

There are three voices who definitively entered the final round because they were the top three faces in the pop category in the Sao Mai 2007 contest: Nguyen Ha Linh, Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong and Tran Hoang Nghiep.

Nine competitors passed the qualifier round: Nguyen Manh Quan (also a song writer), Dinh Phuong Thuy, Duong Hoang Yen (the youngest contestant – 17), Nguyen Nhat Thu, Duy Khoa, Thu Huong, Khac Hieu, Ngoc Minh and Hai yen

All of the competitors are quite familiar with performing in front of audiences because they have all won prizes in singing contests.

The organisers will invite Thai experts to teach performance skills to the 12 contestants ten days before the first show on June 29.

Fashion designer Duc Hung, Yen Trang hair salon and make-up artist Thu Huong will support competitors during the competition.
